Wagner, Wilson Appointed to IPRO Board

John D. Wagner, MD, MBA and Larry Wilson have been appointed to the IPRO Board of Directors, effective December 5, 2006.
Wagner holds an MD degree from Yale University School of Medicine and an MBA in Healthcare Administration from the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College/Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Subspecialty of Nephrology, he is a member of the Faculty Practice and Staff Nephrologist at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where he is Head of the Section of Dialysis. He is Staff Nephrologist and Member of the Nutrition Service at North Shore University Hospital, and Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Wilson has been self-described as a dialysis patient since 1997. He joined the ESRD Network of New York's Patient Advisory Committee (PAC) as Patient Representative the same year, and has served as PAC Manhattan and Staten Island Chairperson since 1998. Wilson has been a strong and effective advocate for the promotion of patient education and patient-centered care in the outpatient dialysis setting. He was instrumental in the development of the first Annual Kidney Disease Awareness Day, held in Manhattan in October 2006.
