Network 9 Emergency Updates and Transportation Resources
The Network is required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to track the status of facility operations and patient access to treatment during an emergency. The Network works with federal, state, and local government agencies to assist with patient safety and ensure dialysis facilities are prioritized to remain open. If dialysis staff or patients require assistance, please contact the IPRO ESRD Network Program at 516-686-9790 or 800-238-3773 (ESRD).

Transportation Resources
Transportation is a critical part of patient care. The ESRD Network of the Ohio River Valley will continue to monitor and gather resources relating to the transportation of dialysis patients to and from their scheduled appointments during the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19). The situation on the ground varies from state to state, so please utilize these resources to help you connect with transportation opportunities for dialysis patients in the Network.

The Network has compiled information on the management of dialysis transportation in each state and has released the below Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). These resources were designed to provide an overview of the current transportation systems in place in your state, as well as helpful links to resources critical to arranging transportation for dialysis patients. Included are state and county contacts for transportation and answers to questions about the methods taken to secure transportation in emergency circumstances ( i.e.,transportation companies shutting down or refusing to transport patients).

State Transportation Databases
The Network has compiled three databases to house up-to-date information about transportation and community resources available. This information is a supplement to the FAQ's above and should be utilized in concert with that document. Information included in the database may include contact info for transit authorities, emergency management agency leads, community transportation initiatives and organizations, and status updates on transit protocols and policies. Please note that contact names and other pertinent information will be updated as situations change or new information becomes available. Please note that the Network is in contact with transportation companies, transit authorities, and emergency management statewide.
